Why would you want to go through that again?
You probably went through a difficult time to get sober. The consequences that indicated that you needed to get sober in the first place, will just get even more lousy if you chose to relapse during tough times. There is nothing so bad that a relapse will inevitably make worse. .
Test your strength.
You are stronger then you probably give yourself credit for. Getting sober is not as easy as one might think, but you did it! Keep on the momentum and use that inner strength to get you through that tough time and remain sober. You can do it.
You do not have to be alone.
Addiction usually makes addicts isolate, but in sobriety there is a way out of the isolation. Get support and use it when everything seems dark. Asking for help will bond you with people that may have already walked through what you are trying to walk through right now.
Be an example for somebody else.
Life has an awesome way of coming full circle when we are being of service to those in need. This can be merely sharing your experience, strength, and hope with those that also need some guidance through adversity. It is certainly self-less to go through life’s trials sober and be able to pass on hope to someone else.
Your sobriety is one day at a time.
When you have a lot going on, It can be easy to overwhelm yourself with all the stressors in life. Try keeping your eye on the prize and take everything as it comes, including sobriety. If you get ahead of yourself, you might inundate your beautiful progress. Take your recovery one day at time to keep it in much simpler terms.
Giving up your sobriety will not fix the problem.
Addiction is not the solution to your problems. Typically, substance abuse will only add fuel to the fire. The solution lies in recovery to prevent your relapse.
