At Serenity Oaks Wellness Center, we help both men and women of all ages and all walks of life overcome addiction and learn to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. Our clients are a diverse group that all have a single purpose in common: to achieve long-term recovery. To accomplish that goal, we address the needs of the individual, ensuring the treatment program meets the needs of the client and not the other way around. If you are struggling with addiction, our team of seasoned professionals is ready to help you shine a light on the issues surrounding your substance dependency, so you can turn to a path of recovery and a higher quality of life.
Addiction is a disease that affects the mind, body and spirit. Changes to brain chemistry often lead to dependency on the substance, making it very difficult to stop using without a professional treatment program. We understand the firm grip of addiction, but we also know how to break that vice and help you learn to live substance-free. Our comprehensive program includes a broad range of therapies and treatment modalities to ensure we can reach each of our clients on a very personal and practical level.
At Serenity Oaks Wellness Center, we treat the following clients:
FIRST TIME CLIENTS
Seeking addiction treatment for the first time can be an overwhelming experience, both for the individual battling the addiction as well as friends and family members. If you are just starting out in this process, you will likely have many questions about the process, the experience and the outcome. At Serenity Oaks Wellness, we understand the trepidation that often accompanies that first step and will do everything we can to ease your anxiety and make you feel as comfortable as possible throughout. During your first week at our center, clients about to complete the program will also come alongside to mentor you and make you feel comfortable as you acclimate to your surroundings as well.
Addiction treatment is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor, which is why we will perform an extensive evaluation to determine which treatment protocols might be most useful for you. We will tailor your program to your needs, which will include a combination of traditional psychotherapy, medical treatment and holistic modalities. As you find different ways to address the issues that led to your addiction, you will equip yourself with healthy habits and coping mechanisms that will put you on the path of long-term recovery.
DUAL DIAGNOSIS
When you receive a dual diagnosis, it means you are dealing with addiction and a mental disorder at the same time. It may be that the mental illness was present first, and the substance abuse came into play as you attempted to mask the symptoms of your condition – a situation known as self-medicating. It can also occur when the use of a substance brings on or exacerbates a mental disorder.
Some of the most common mental disorders in a dual diagnosis include:
- Depression
- Anxiety disorders
- Bipolar disorder
- Personality disorders
- Schizophrenia
- Post-traumatic disorder (PTSD)
Also known as a co-occurring disorder, clients with a dual diagnosis need specialized treatment that addresses both conditions simultaneously to produce the best possible outcome. Not all treatment centers are equipped to handle a dual diagnosis, so it is important for clients with this concern to find the right facility for them. Staff must know medical protocols as well as the best psychotherapy modalities to assist clients in handling both the substance dependency and mental illness. Serenity Oaks Wellness Center has the experience, training and staffing to manage dual diagnosis safely and efficiently.
RELAPSED CLIENTS
Addiction is a chronic illness, which means it cannot be “cured,” but it can be effectively managed. Relapse is a common issue with any ongoing condition, including diabetes, hypertension and substance dependency. In addiction treatment, relapse is not a sign of failure, but an interruption in the recovery process that can be addressed and correctly managed once again. For some individuals, it may take additional treatment to get back on track and reduce the risk for additional relapses in the future.
At Serenity Oaks Wellness Center, we understand relapse happens, and we believe clients can always get back on the road to a healthy, successful recovery. In some cases, relapse may be an indication you need to return to treatment to reassess or revamp your strategy to produce a different outcome. No matter how far the relapse, we are prepared to help you overcome the backsliding and restore sound footing on your recovery journey.
Clients in treatment are all different, which is why every treatment plan must be uniquely structured to the individual. Whether you are struggling with a dual diagnosis, entering treatment for the first time or overcoming a relapse, we can help.
