A.D.O.R.N.
At Serenity Oaks, our vision is to ADORN our patients to help facilitate personal growth and change towards a healthy balanced life in sobriety. Your addiction treatment program will incorporate clinical therapeutic support, medical supervision and care, and recreational or experiential therapy opportunities.
In order to support our patients in ADORNing from their addiction, we believe that this is completed in 5 stages;
A- Accountability
During the initial stage of your addiction treatment program, patients will become accountable to their actions and consequences of addiction that has impacted their life or others around them .
D- Dreams, determination, disconnect, or direction
This second stage of addiction treatment is characterized by identifying the harmful habits that have been established during your addiction and beginning to identify how you would want to make changes for the future in sober living.
O- Opportunity
Patients are beginning to build and develop positive, healthy coping strategies while also receiving feedback from peers and staff about their recovery process to ensure that they are receiving optimal treatment progress.
R- Relationships and Restoring
During this fourth phase of addiction treatment, patients will engage in family therapy sessions to help reconnect with their loved ones and rebuild trust within the relationship. Loved ones will develop skills for healthy communication, setting appropriate boundaries with one another, and holding each other accountable.
N- Navigate
This final phase of addiction treatment is characterized by supporting patients to navigate sober living options and the supports that will be needed as you transition into your home environment. Patients are paired with new clients to support as a mentor and support the new person in going through their treatment to help share their experience and knowledge of addiction recovery.

MAT Addiction Treatments in Margate
Detox programs at rehab centers for drug and alcohol addiction can be a very good foundation as well as a milestone in a person’s recovery. Substance abuse treatment at Serenity Oaks looks different for each of our clients because every treatment plan we develop is custom tailored to the specific patient’s needs. It is probably easy to imagine that treatment for opioid addiction is going to be different than treatment for alcohol addiction, but the customization we do for each of our patient’s goes way beyond what substance they have been abusing. A therapy program for one patient will look much different from one for another client because each of them have had unique experiences while struggling with substance abuse. Thus their treatment plan needs to be unique, too.
If you or someone you love is having troubles of any kind with drugs or alcohol, call us today to find out more about our levels of care and types of treatment and what they can do for you.
What is MAT?
MAT, or Medically Assisted Treatment, is different from Medication Assisted Treatment even though the terms are sometimes inadvertently used in place of one another. Medication Assisted Treatment programs use specific medications to replace the substance a person is addicted to in order to wean them off of the drug or alcohol slowly. Suboxone treatment for the treatment of opioid addiction is one such program.
Medically Assisted detox programs are typically inpatient rehab plans that allow an individual to go through drug or alcohol detox in a safe, secure environment. This is important for a variety of reasons. First, when someone is in a detox center, they are physically separated from the substance they have been abusing. Even when someone prepares their home for alcohol or drug detox but getting rid of any addictive substances, they can still fairly easily acquire more if they decide detox and withdrawal symptoms are too tough for them. This level of relapse prevention that a detox center offers leads to the second reason, and that is preventing an accidental overdose. When a person does relapse while trying to detox at home they can often binge drink or use drugs which can lead to an overdose.
A third reason medical detox is an excellent idea is that it’s never truly known how severe a person’s withdrawal symptoms will be until they stop using or drinking and start detoxing. Typically, the longer someone has been drinking or using the more severe and longer they will experience side effects, but exact reactions cannot be predicted. In a medically assisted program, there are support personnel and clinical professionals available at all times at the drug rehab center to address any issues that arise as a result of the detox process. Withdrawal symptoms can also be mitigated with over the counter drugs, especially for very typical symptoms like nausea, body aches, and sleeplessness. All in all, alcohol detox or drug detox in a rehab treatment center provides the best avenue to success during this very important part of an individual’s initial steps in recovery.
What To Expect During MAT?
Medical detox is one of the levels of care we offer at Serenity Oaks. A treatment plan for alcohol detox or drug detox is developed for each of our client’s individually. Each patient meets with our medical and psychological staff so that baselines for physical, mental, and emotional health can be established. Opioid treatment and alcohol treatment will be significantly different to begin with, as well as treatment for any other substances, and then the individual factors for each client are assessed. This includes how long a person has been addicted to a substance, how much of a substance they take each day, general health factors, and their mental and emotional states.
During medical detox patients are closely monitored 24 hours a day. Vital signs are taken frequently in order to assess any significant changes in a person’s overall health. Additionally, this type of treatment provides for the basic needs of a patient that they may have been ignoring due to their substance abuse. Proper meals, hydration, rest, and exercise are all important parts of medical detox.
The last part of inpatient detox treatment is the therapy available during this level of care. By incorporating group sessions or behavioral health therapy, a person can get a jumpstart on the next phase of their recovery. Group therapy, like family therapy, shows an individual that they are not alone in their struggle towards being free of drugs and alcohol.
