Why Choose Serenity Oaks for Medically Assisted Treatment

At Serenity Oaks, we support both medically assisted and medication assisted treatment as a precursor to behavioral health treatment including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  Addiction recovery can be a long road but it can also be one where there is constant progress and milestones that are reached. Once an individual has completed a medically assisted program, they are ready for alcohol or drug rehab. At Serenity Oaks, we have many options to choose from among our levels of care.

We offer inpatient rehab, outpatient treatment including specialized programs live Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), and coordination with aftercare support groups like Alcoholics Anonymous as part of our alumni program.  Call us today to hear more about our inpatient and outpatient drug rehab programs.

Serenity Oaks changed my life. I went in a terrified shell of a person. I left born again, a new man entirely. The team of therapist is amazing, they saved my life. Today I am clean and sober living a life beyond my wildest dreams. I owe the credit to the things I learned at Serenity Oaks. They give you all the tools you need to succeed in the real world. I recommend this place to anyone who is suffering from the cunning, baffling, powerful disease called addiction.

The therapists here are top notch! The staff is excellent as well. The individual therapy sessions and the group sessions are equally valuable. If you’re open-minded and willing, this place can change your life! I cannot thank this place enough for giving me my life back. I was completely lost, empty, full of darkness and self-hatred. Today, I can say that I am the complete opposite of all of those things! I owe it all to Serenity Oaks Wellness Center and the hard work that I did there and the lessons and tools I learned and continue to practice in my daily life now.

At Serenity Oaks, our vision is to ADORN our patients to help facilitate personal growth and change towards a healthy balanced life in sobriety. Your addiction treatment program will incorporate clinical therapeutic support, medical supervision and care, and recreational or experiential therapy opportunities.

In order to support our patients in ADORNing from their addiction, we believe that this is completed in 5 stages;

A- Accountability

During the initial stage of your addiction treatment program, patients will become accountable to their actions and consequences of addiction that has impacted their life or others around them .

D- Dreams, determination, disconnect, or direction

This second stage of addiction treatment is characterized by identifying the harmful habits that have been established during your addiction and beginning to identify how you would want to make changes for the future in sober living.

O- Opportunity

Patients are beginning to build and develop positive, healthy coping strategies while also receiving feedback from peers and staff about their recovery process to ensure that they are receiving optimal treatment progress.

R- Relationships and Restoring

During this fourth phase of addiction treatment, patients will engage in family therapy sessions to help reconnect with their loved ones and rebuild trust within the relationship. Loved ones will develop skills for healthy communication, setting appropriate boundaries with one another, and holding each other accountable.

N- Navigate

This final phase of addiction treatment is characterized by supporting patients to navigate sober living options and the supports that will be needed as you transition into your home environment. Patients are paired with new clients to support as a mentor and support the new person in going through their treatment to help share their experience and knowledge of addiction recovery.

MAT Addiction Treatments in Hollywood

Medically Assisted Treatment, or MAT, is one option when it comes to how to start your addiction recovery.  Many people who struggle with drug specific issues like opioid use disorders or alcohol use disorders will need to take part in multiple types of treatment for substance abuse. This isn’t true of everyone, and when you talk to our substance abuse treatment specialists, they can help guide you through the drug or alcohol rehab process and find the best options for you. If you or one of your loved ones is struggling with substance use disorders and is looking for treatment in Hollywood Florida, call us today.  We can review all of the phases of treatment with you and help you map out a path forward.

What is MAT?

MAT programs are medical detox plans that can greatly assist someone who is going through withdrawal symptoms when they have quit using or drinking.  Medically assisted detoxes are different from medication assisted treatment programs, although due to the closeness in the wording, they can often be confused.  MAT providers include both hospitals and rehab centers.  MAT programs take place in safe, secure, supportive environments that are designed to take someone from their first moments of withdrawal symptoms, which can begin with hours of the last time someone has used or drank, to the next phase of their addiction recovery.  MAT providers always suggest that any type of drug or alcohol detox program be followed up by inpatient or outpatient drug rehab.

A Methadone clinic is an example of a Medication Assisted Treatment MAT program. In this scenario, someone taking part in alcohol or opioid treatment is prescribed specific drugs to replace the substance they have been abusing.  They are then weaned off of all substances over time. These are often outpatient programs. During Medically Assisted Detox, an individual stays in a hospital or recovery center for the duration of their treatment. This type of residential inpatient program is staffed by medical professionals and drug abuse rehab professionals.  Each rehab center client has a custom tailored program developed for them based on their substance of choice, length of addiction, and other health and personnel issues.

What To Expect During MAT?

Medically Assisted Detox is a residential inpatient treatment plan that is part physical withdrawal management, part mental health treatment, and part general health support. If an individual takes part in multiple levels of care as part of the alcohol rehab or drug rehab program, MAT programs typically come first.  That’s because a person needs to rid their body of all of the drug or alcohol toxins before they can enter any of the next phases of treatment. When someone begins a MAT program at a rehab facility or hospital, they can expect 24 hour support throughout their treatment plan.  This can be very important when it comes to relapse prevention.  No matter how long it takes a person to completely detox and be done experiencing withdrawal symptoms, there will be moments when it just doesn’t seem worth it and they will consider going back to using or drinking. This is where being in a safe, supportive, secure environment for medical detox can be key.

During MAT programs, individuals also have their basic needs taken care of throughout the entire process. MAT treatment provides patients with proper meals, ensures they are hydrated, makes sure they get plenty of rest and sleep, and also takes part in activities or exercise programs.  All of this supports  the overall substance abuse treatment process. Before someone enters one of the available drug rehabs and begins treatment as part of one of the levels of care, they can often have ignored their basic health needs.  Providing a healthy living environment during medical detox helps both the mind and body progress through and psat withdrawal symptoms and other side effects.  During a MAT program, patients are also administered over the counter medications in order to help with withdrawal symptoms.  Many types of substance abuse will result in nausea, vomiting, headaches, body aches, and sleeplessness as side effects of stopping using or drinking.  These types of withdrawal side effects can be mitigated with properly measured everyday medicines.

Detox patients often take part in group therapy sessions, too.  This can help them transition into rehab programs, including individualized therapies, once they complete the detox process.

At Serenity Oaks Wellness Center, we offer residential detox treatment with a wide range of modalities to address the needs of all our clients. Our high staff-to-client ratio ensures everyone that enters our facility gets the personal attention they need and deserve for a safe and successful detox process.
