Serenity Oaks changed my life. I went in a terrified shell of a person. I left born again, a new man entirely. The team of therapist is amazing, they saved my life. Today I am clean and sober living a life beyond my wildest dreams. I owe the credit to the things I learned at Serenity Oaks. They give you all the tools you need to succeed in the real world. I recommend this place to anyone who is suffering from the cunning, baffling, powerful disease called addiction.

– Justin G.

The therapists here are top notch! The staff is excellent as well. The individual therapy sessions and the group sessions are equally valuable. If you’re open-minded and willing, this place can change your life! I cannot thank this place enough for giving me my life back. I was completely lost, empty, full of darkness and self-hatred. Today, I can say that I am the complete opposite of all of those things! I owe it all to Serenity Oaks Wellness Center and the hard work that I did there and the lessons and tools I learned and continue to practice in my daily life now.

A.D.O.R.N.

At Serenity Oaks, our vision is to ADORN our patients to help facilitate personal growth and change towards a healthy balanced life in sobriety. Your addiction treatment program will incorporate clinical therapeutic support, medical supervision and care, and recreational or experiential therapy opportunities.

In order to support our patients in ADORNing from their addiction, we believe that this is completed in 5 stages;

A- Accountability

During the initial stage of your addiction treatment program, patients will become accountable to their actions and consequences of addiction that has impacted their life or others around them .

D- Dreams, determination, disconnect, or direction

This second stage of addiction treatment is characterized by identifying the harmful habits that have been established during your addiction and beginning to identify how you would want to make changes for the future in sober living.

O- Opportunity

Patients are beginning to build and develop positive, healthy coping strategies while also receiving feedback from peers and staff about their recovery process to ensure that they are receiving optimal treatment progress.

R- Relationships and Restoring

During this fourth phase of addiction treatment, patients will engage in family therapy sessions to help reconnect with their loved ones and rebuild trust within the relationship. Loved ones will develop skills for healthy communication, setting appropriate boundaries with one another, and holding each other accountable.

N- Navigate

This final phase of addiction treatment is characterized by supporting patients to navigate sober living options and the supports that will be needed as you transition into your home environment. Patients are paired with new clients to support as a mentor and support the new person in going through their treatment to help share their experience and knowledge of addiction recovery.

MAT Addiction Treatment in Fort Lauderdale

Addiction is a disease that affects millions of Americans every year, and for many people, the prospect of quitting drugs or alcohol can be frightening. Withdrawal symptoms, lack of support, and relapse are all serious concerns, and many people do not know where to turn.

At Serenity Oaks, in Fort Lauderdale FL, our medically assisted treatment (MAT) program can help you quit drugs and alcohol, address the underlying causes of your substance use disorder (SUD), and treat mental health issues while providing full support. Medical detox will also reduce the risk of relapsing.

Detox at Serenity Oaks happens in a safe and comfortable, home-like environment, rather than in a clinical hospital room. You will have a TV with movies, a private bathroom, and plenty of storage space, as well as access to spa services, and holistic treatments like yoga and meditation classes. We will ensure you eat healthy, whole food and remain hydrated as you detox.

At Serenity Oaks, our nonjudgmental staff is experienced in treating everybody, from all walks of life, from people who are experiencing a relapse, to people who are in treatment for the first time. There are dual diagnosis treatments for people experiencing a co-occurring mental health issue with their addiction (depression, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, bipolar disorder, PTSD, personality disorders, mood disorders, or schizophrenia).

At Serenity Oaks, we provide medical care and monitoring, therapy, and counseling so that you do not suffer, not only physically, but also emotionally as your body and brain adjust to the lack of drugs and alcohol in your system.

As detox is only the first step in a rehabilitation plan, our facility offers fully customized inpatient rehab, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and partial hospitalization plans (PHP) for each of our clients. Rehab is the place where you transform your life for the better, learn about addiction, heal underlying trauma and mental illness, and get to the root of your addiction. You will also gain coping and relapse prevention skills, and a sober support system that will help you for the rest of your life.

Our Thrive alumni mentor program is a long-term support program that provides the motivation you may need to challenge yourself and achieve personal goals and growth, with 24-hour phone support, local groups to meet up with, online groups and opportunities to be of service to others.

What is MAT?

MAT is a medication-assisted treatment program used for detoxing from drugs and alcohol, that integrates:

  • Medical care to address the myriad of medical problems that come with extended drug abuse, with 24-hour monitoring by registered nursing staff to ensure your detox is going to plan and you remain safe
  • Prescription medications to reduce cravings, and pain, and prevent medical issues like high blood pressure or seizures from occurring
  • Therapy and counseling to help each patient process the emotional pain and trauma they may have gone through, as well as to provide strategies and support as they work through their detox
  • Dual diagnosis treatments for people experiencing mental illness, PTSD, or other comorbid mental health issues, with targeted therapy and psychiatric medications like antidepressants or antipsychotic medication if needed

MAT is not required for each patient, and you will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to create a detox plan, followed by a rehabilitation program, that suits your individual needs. Most people require at least a short-term stay in inpatient detox, as the risk of relapsing when detoxing as an outpatient is high. Being removed from all substances, as well as any triggers or enablers, will give you the best chance at detox success.

A medical detox program will reduce suffering and provide the support you need as you go through this difficult but necessary part of the rehabilitation process. Our comprehensive treatment programs will lead you through every step you need, from detox to inpatient and outpatient rehab, and beyond.

What to Expect During MAT

When you first come to Serenity Oaks wellness center, you will have an intake evaluation, where you will undergo a medical examination and a psychiatric evaluation. It is important to tell the intake team the whole truth about your drug use and history so that they can create a customized rehabilitation plan that will best help you achieve sobriety.

Your medical detox program will be administered by licensed, certified doctors and therapists who have years of experience in the field of detox and rehabilitation. Throughout the process, you will be treated as a family member who is worthy of respect, dignity, and a pain-free experience, by our nonjudgmental and trauma-informed team of experts.

You will live inside the facility for the duration of your detox, which, depending on factors like which substance you were using, how much you were using and for how long, will take between a few days and a few weeks (your intake team will be able to give you a much clearer picture on your specifics before you enter the program).

During this time, you will stay in a comfortable room, under the watch of registered nurses and doctors, who will keep you safe and give you medications such as methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone, acamprosate, and disulfiram, along with medications that will manage pain, restlessness, and other health and comfort concerns.

You will receive holistic treatments to address your psychological and emotional health alongside your physical health, and we will do all we can to ensure any discomfort or fear is taken care of through a whole-patient approach that includes medical care, education, counseling, talk therapy, and trauma-informed care, along with alternative treatments like yoga, acupuncture, and meditation.
